Overview

The 2017 LDSMBA Conference was held in Chicago, IL, hosted by students from the Booth School of Business and Kellogg School of Management. The conference had over 150 participants, including current MBA students, recent and prospective students, and professionals.

Elder Joaquin E Costa & Sister Renée Costa

Elder Joaquin E. Costa was sustained as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 2, 2016. Elder Costa received a bachelor’s degree in economics in 1987 from Universidad de Buenos Aires and a master’s degree in business administration in 1994 from Brigham Young University.  In his professional career he worked in the banking industry in Argentina, the Czech Republic and the Sultanate of Oman in the Middle East. 

Alison Davis-Blake

Alison Davis-Blake is an served as Dean of the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan from July 2011 until July 2016. Davis-Blake is an expert on strategic human resource management and organizational design for effective management of human capital. Her research interests include the effects of outsourcing on organizations and employees, organizational employment, salary and promotion systems, and the determinants and consequences of using contingent workers. She has taught courses in organization theory, organizational behavior, fundamentals of management, and strategic human resource management for undergraduate, MBA, doctoral, and executive education students.

Jonathan Johnson

Jonathan Johnson is president of Medici Ventures, Overstock’s  subsidiary that oversees a portfolio of blockchain technology and fintech businesses, which include t0, and investments in Bitt.com, PeerNova, ripio, factom, Settlemint and IdentityMind. 
In this role, Johnson is responsible for continuing Medici Ventures’ efforts to pioneer growth and innovation in applying the blockchain to financial systems and beyond.
